About Me

A Successful Spring Outdoor Party

I grew up on a small ranch in the southern United States. My family’s home was situated on over 70 acres of land. During the warm weather months, I enjoyed inviting my friends over for parties. We would play games of volleyball and badminton in my backyard. Afterwards, we would enjoy a hearty meal of grilled hamburgers, hotdogs, potato chips, and cookies. Those parties were some of the most memorable ones of my lifetime. Now that I have a home of my own, I’d like to start planning some festive outdoor parties. In order to recreate the fun I had years ago, I need to purchase some sports supplies such as a volleyball net, a volleyball, and some badminton rackets. On this blog, you will discover the essential sports supplies to buy in order to host a successful spring outdoor party.

Learn How To Choose The Right Gun To Use When You Want To Conceal And Carry

If you want to be able to protect yourself at all times, you may want to consider carrying a gun on a regular basis. If you have never concealed and carried a gun before, there are a few things that you need to take into consideration to ensure that you choose the right gun for you. The guide below walks you through a few factors to consider when buying your first gun to conceal and carry.

Consider Where You Plan to Carry the Gun

The first thing you need to do is you need to decide where you want to carry the gun. Where you want to carry it will dictate how large or small of a gun you need to be considering. You can carry a larger gun at the small of your back or on your hip than you can carry hanging from a bra or in a shoulder holster.

Consider the Weight of the Gun

You need to consider how heavy you want the gun to be before buying one. You need to be sure that you choose a gun that is light enough to carry comfortably at all times. There are guns available in many different weights, and you need to hold any guns you are considering in your hand to determine if they are of an appropriate weight.

Consider the Safety Features

When you buy a gun to carry, you need to consider if you want to have a manual safety built onto it or not. Women who choose to carry guns in their purses often choose guns with manual safeties just to make sure that the gun does not go off in their purse accidentally. A manual safety also gives some people peace of mind that they are in complete control of their gun at all times.

Consider the Caliber of the Gun

When you buy a gun to carry on your person, you need to consider what caliber makes you feel the most comfortable. Some people feel that a .380 is ideal for women because they are lightweight and easy to fire because of their low recoil. Many men choose to carry 9 mm because they pack power without being overly heavy. You may want to visit a gun range and rent a few different guns to try them out and see which caliber is the right fit for you.

Be sure to get a conceal and carry permit before you start to carry your weapon on your person. There are some jurisdictions that allow you to carry without a permit if you are open carrying on your hip or in a shoulder holster. This is not the case everywhere, so getting a permit is often your best bet. When you're ready to purchase your gun, or if you have more questions, check out a retailer like Wilcox Bait Tackle.
